@rail_guns @duncanparkes Was the cement lorry delivering to the Pembroke College site? They assured me in May (after some nasty incidents at the other end of the road) that "within the timeframes and access routes of the School Street scheme all vehicular movement will cease from our contractors".
@ODS_doinggood This work is completely removing a precious paddling spot for young children and gentle access to the reiver for elderly and disabled people. I think it is vandalism of an important community resource, and discriminatory against less able people.
@katherinesmiles @cycloxoxford@AndrewGant3@lizleffman I'm sorry this happened. These distressing incidents are far too common. Thank you for channelling these experiences into trying to change Oxford for the better.
@AndyLxNen@Carrot70@willbarbero@theJeremyVine From https://t.co/YsTwdqo6sP: "With zero emissions, all Tesla cars are exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty. This includes an exemption from the luxury car surcharge from 1 April 2020 until 31 March 2025."
@JerichoConnect@PedalandPost@Oxford_PickMeUp According to their 2019 press release, "Oxford Bus Company also confirmed it is suspending its PickMeUp service to Jericho from January 5th after the prolonged Walton Street road closure made continuing to provide services to the area impractical." https://t.co/BAYH9dQCXJ
@DannyYee @katherinesmiles @Wendy_Stone @HolyBollards @chrisfellingham @AndrewSudmant@OxfordCity@CycleOx I don't think so. Beyond the parked cars at Lloyds, the cycle lane is usually clear up to Stratfield Rd. Without paint to indicate that contraflow cycling is legitimate, many motorists will think kids on bikes are breaking the rules, and drive accordingly.
@DannyYee @katherinesmiles @Wendy_Stone @HolyBollards @chrisfellingham @AndrewSudmant@OxfordCity@CycleOx I really hope removal of the explicit contraflow cycle lane will not be considered a "solution" to this. The existing lane is used by many kids on bikes every day and making them face down motor traffic completely unprotected would be worse than the current bad situation.
@Beard_Construct @cadebellaigue @PembrokeOxford Lorry was still attempting to manoeuvre with large number of kids on foot and bike trying to get to school. An unpleasant incident, which would have been avoided if @Beard_Construct had respected the #schoolstreet
@Beard_Construct @cadebellaigue @PembrokeOxford One of your staff was highly aggressive with me when I tried to get past -- shouted at me (on bike with young daughter) to get out of the way, told me it was illegal to take photo of them with lorry blocking the road, said they would come to my house and take photos of me
@jonny_ives@cycloxoxford@OxfordCity @OxfordshireCC Are you sure this was bike parking before? Google maps shows that faded disabled spaces have been repainted and rotated. Lots of bike parking has been lost in the city centre over the last few years (possibly including the other side of Broad St), but I'm not sure about here.
@BarclaysUKHelp Hi Rachel. I have sent numerous letters back to you marked โnot known at this addressโ over about 3 years but they keep on coming. Is there something else I can do? Thanks!
