Yes, those photos you’ve seen are real.
More than 18 years ago, a baby named Lamine Yamal and his mom Sheila met Lionel Messi at a UNICEF fundraising photoshoot.
Today, their achievements on the pitch inspire millions. Off the pitch, both Messi and Lamine Yamal use their voices and platforms as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors to support and advocate for children around the world.
The goal? That every child survives, thrives, and fulfils their potential.
We are proud to have them on our team.

If someone had told me that four years later, a 39-year-old Messi would have an even better World Cup than he did at 35, I would not have believed it in any world.
What an absolute freak. What an unbelievable player. It’s just unimaginable in every possible way.
2006, he was a squad player when he should have been trusted more. Pékerman was wrong to think Messi wasn’t ready. I don’t want to say the senior players had it their way. Had they been humble, they had enough in that squad to win the World Cup.
2010, they handed the team to Diego Maradona (because he was constantly undermining the team and Messi in the media, so they decided, fine, come and manage them), who, apart from the fact that he had probably coached three games before being handed that Argentina team to waste, deep down wasn’t into Lionel Messi.
2014. It wasn’t until 2014 that Messi had a real platform at a World Cup. He made the final. Higuain and that other guy. Germany were solid.
2018 is forgettable. Sampaoli had no balls to pick the right players. France were excellent, save for the scare against Nigeria, until the Onazi injury.
2022, Lionel Messi had found Lionel Scaloni. Emi Martinez and the rest played for him. They played for him and through him. World Champions. Being away from the pressure of Barcelona helped.
2026.Written off. Messi at 39 couldn’t possibly do it. They are in another final. Whilst others were chasing goals and personal glory, he was still getting those, but he was focused on being ready for this World Cup.
In essence, discounting the first two for the reasons stated, Messi has made the final in three of his last four World Cups. This is madness. Total madness.
Who’s the best MC, Biggie, Jay-Z or Nas
Or,
Who’s the best, Pac, Nas and BIG.
Make your pick. I have different answers for this and I often contextualise things here.
But,
Who’s the GOAT of football?
Ankara Messi, Messi ‘22 or Messi ‘26?
Messi’s only competition in the GOAT debate is the different versions of Messi against the current version of Messi!
🇦🇷 Lionel Messi’s 2026 World Cup is now better than his 2022 World Cup 😳
📊 2022 World Cup:

😳 7 big chances created
💨 15 successful dribbles
📊 2026 World Cup:

Argentina will play in three World Cup finals in the Messi era.
And he led them as their captain, their top scorer, and their best player to all three finals.
Only 6 players in all of history can boast of playing in 3 FIFA WC final matches; none can boast of being their team’s best player in all three.
Do you know the crazier bit? Messi has won two FIFA World Cup player of tournament awards and he will certainly win a third regardless of what happens in the final.
He is above and beyond all. Past, Present and foreseeable future.
Messi completed nine dribbles vs. England, the most any player has completed in a single match this World Cup.
It's also tied for the most he's EVER completed in a World Cup match.
39 years old 😨

🚨🗣️ Gary Neville: "With the centre backs they have, I can’t see us not scoring at least two goals."
🚨🗣️ Joe Cole: "We're going to have to put Messi to sleep. We're going to put him to sleep. I'm saying it now, we're going to reach the World Cup final."
