I’m almost hesitant to tag @davemeltzerWON on this one lol
Every correct answer is probably from the 1920s or 30s. Newspapers & radio had massive reach, and the big Pat O’Connor, Strangler Lewis, Jim Londos et al. matches were national events

Who do you think are the 5 most famous wrestlers of all time?
Like if you bumped into a random person on the street who didn’t watch wrestling, they would know who all 5 are.
John Cena was asked if there’s anybody on his radar ahead of the John Cena Classic:
“I try shut my radar off because I wasn’t on anybody’s radar and I managed to have a wonderful career. Guys like CM Punk and even Seth Rollins might not necessarily be on somebody’s radar. Becky Lynch is a story about someone who was not necessarily on somebody’s radar and made something. There are sure shots. Brock Lesnar was born to do what we do. I think Joe Anoa’i, Roman Reigns is another one.
I like turning the radar off and I like seeing what people can do. I like seeing potential when the bright lights are on, and maybe that’s the nucleus of the John Cena Classic. It’s how I got my start.”

Barry Blaustein will be dearly missed
Beyond The Mat remains an all-time great documentary — among all topics, not just wrestling
Glad to see @ByEmilyStMartin wrote such a wonderful obit for Barry in the LA Times

Paparazzi Productions are probably the most Actually Funny segments Pro Wrestling has ever produced.
Two parts of this get me every single time:
Shelley going "Oh, wow!" at the reveal of the chart and, of course, "Nash, as the Diesel character..."
He is the national hero in North Korea. They teach people in schools a complete fictitious story of his life though. In what they teach, pro wrestling was a shoot, nobody could beat him, and the Japanese murdered him because none of them could beat him. To this day he's used as a way to teach the populace to hate Japan.
If you liked the tall tales Hulk Hogan (RIP) used to tell when being interviewed by the mainstream media...
...and for me the best part was @davemeltzerWON bringing them back to reality...
Then you must read Dave McMenamin's LeBron puff piece on ESPN

People have long accused me of trolling -- which I never do; all my takes are authentic -- so I feel qualified to anoint @AndreasHale the leader-in-the-clubhouse for 2026 MMA Troll Tweet of the Year
@davemeltzerWON I have a hard time believing TNT Sports could replace AEW's original, live hours at a ~600k audience level for anywhere near $200M/year
And when you look at the risk to the literal billions of dollars in revenue TBS gets from carriage fees if they lost AEW... it's a steal
