I got to meet actor Lance Guest today at one of my local comic shops. He was there to promote the first issue of the new sequel comic for THE LAST STARFIGHTER. I had a great time! What a nice guy... And check out the book. The first issue sets things up nicely to keep telling stories with these characters.

(Superman joke falls flat and he's telling everybody he knows these are drones.)

Schumer: "And when it comes to drones, people in the New York area and all across the country have more questions than answers. We've seen lots of recent sightings in New York, New Jersey, Long Island, Staten Island, so, it's remarkable, with all these sightings over the last while, why do we have more questions than answers?"

(Drones, drones, drones. It's clear he knows these are drones, right? That is, until the questions start coming from the media.)

Schumer: "Well, we're here today for three reasons: First, to push a new but unclassified tech into wide use, the so-called Robin. [Second,] to get answers on these drones, and also to announce that I am going to help pass, and I'm gonna co-sponsor legislation that will combat these drones in a better way by allowing local police departments and state police departments to help the Feds in sighting these drones, which so many have requested.

"If the technology exists for a drone to make it up into the sky, there certainly is the technology that can track the craft with precision and determine what the heck is going on! And that's what the Robin does. Today we're asking the DHS, the Department of Homeland Security, to deploy special detection systems like the Robin, which use, not a linear line of sight, but 360-degree technology that has a much better chance of detecting these drones. And we're asking DHS to bring them to the New York New Jersey area."

Here's how Robin Radar Systems works

Siete Hamminga, the CEO and founder of Robin Radar Systems, explained how his devices operate.

"Our capability is really providing situational awareness," Hamminga said.

Hamminga says with the help of AI, Robin uses unique radar technology from the ground to track drones within a five-kilometer -- or just over three-mile -- radius.

"If you have a 360-degree view, a 3D picture of where the drone is flying, you could also see the flight path and you may find out where the drone came from or where it lands, and that is usually the place where your operators stand," Hamminga said.

"I'm a firm believer that the systems [that] do track and detect drones will become the safety standard in all the prisons, airports, harbors, nuclear power plants and border security, critical infrastructures in general, so I think we 'ain't seen nothing yet,' as you say in the United States," Hamminga said.

(It's safe to assume that the U.S. Navy has some pretty advanced tech and they still couldn't determine where the "drones" came from, where they landed and who was operating them in the 2019 West Coast incidents. So, I'm skeptical that the Robin will be successful here.

(Joke number two, about the Magic 8 Ball, also fell flat. He needs a new speech writer.)

Reporter: "Sir, as the author of The UAP amendment in the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act... "

Schumer: "Yes!"

Reporter: "...you among anybody should be calling these what they are. We don't know they're drones, correct? They are UAPs. Why aren't they being called UAPs?"

(Yes! Really want to find out who this guy is so we can thank him!)

Schumer: "Be[cause] we don't know if there are UAPs, we don't know what they are. That's what we're trying to find out."

(Pretty sure he meant to say, "We don't know if they are UAPs. @lesternare said that, "we’re witnessing a masterclass in how not to handle public messaging." This is a prime example of that. Schumer calls them drones throughout the presser, but the first time he's challenged on that he admits they don't know what they are. Then why did he (or his speechwriter) not just add the word, "apparent" every time he said drones? "These, apparent, drones are making people uneasy." Probably because he didn't expect to be asked about UAP. Nice job, unnamed reporter!)

Reporter: "They're unidentified, of course."

Schumer: "Nobody knows what they are, we have to find out. We don't believe they're...no, we do not believe they are U.S. military drones, or the military would have told us that."

(Nobody knows. This is a stunning admission from the Senate Majority Leader. Somewhere, Harry Reid is smiling. If you're somebody not into UAP, you might be saying to yourself, "Wait, obviously these are drones. Why is Schumer saying nobody knows what they are?" And I would say. "Read John Keel and look up the supposed ability of UAP to take any form it chooses and to mimic our tech. Dr. Eric Davis has written about the idea (Cash/Landrum) and Dr. Colm Kelleher has spoken about it in various interviews.")

Reporter: "Have you spoken with top government leaders about the possibilities involved with non-human intelligence?"

Schumer: "Look, we have spoken with top government leaders about finding the answers to what these are. We don't know what they are."

(Schumer didn't laugh or make a face when asked about non-human intelligence and that's an example of the amazing progress we've made in the last seven years. Also, when it comes to mentioning NHI, the reporter using the word, "possibilities" was important as it didn't force Schumer into a corner.)

Reporter: (Indecipherable)

Schumer: "No more, sir, let other people, okay?"

Reporter: "Okay."

(People are going to say Schumer cut off the NHI guy but that's just standard press conference etiquette. You don't get to keep asking as many questions as you want.

Let's see what Robin can do. And if there are still no answers, the next press conference from Schumer is going to be very interesting.)
