Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
@packyM Ways with the em dashes though?? I never saw these before AI. And I love a good dash... but an em dash? That just screams ai so I don't know why a human would ever use it.
@garykoepnick@A2thaR2thaZ@ChopstickBurger@endless_frank@grok No one talks about this. Anyone who thinks the dems had an "open border policy" just hasn't looked into the policies. Not one who elected dems advocates for this. It's not even popular amongst dem voters. Were they more lax than republicans, yes. But again they also deported more
@garykoepnick@JMehoff70612@endless_frank Biden managed to deport far more than Trump is now, & more humanely without getting US citizens caught up in the mix. The net migration in the US was still more than now, partly the dems fault but also a result of structural changes to the system initiated during Trumps #1 term.
@MercuriusFilius@andyantiles_ I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. I lost both parents within a year of each other, reasonable young. Younger than one should be orphaned that's for sure. Life and how you view it completely changes. I'm sure you've made them very proud.
Former ICE agent: I am duty bound to report the legally required training program at the ICE Academy as deficient, defective, and broken. On my first day training new cadets, I received secretive orders to teach them to violate the Constitution by entering homes without a judicial warrant. I watched ICE cut 240 hours of vital classes that teach our legal system, firearms training, the use of force, lawful arrests, proper detention, and the limits of officers' authority.
- DOGE was a flop
- No Tax on Tips/Overtime was pretty much a lie
- No $2000 Tariff Dividend Checks
- No US Epstein arrests
- Grocery Prices have not come down
- Obama has more deportations, with less drama
- Russia/Ukraine war not over
- Drill Baby Drill a flop as drilling is down
… What else am I missing ???
I live in Sweden.
And I work more than half of my time in the United States.
I know both systems — not from headlines, but from daily life.
Sweden has a capitalist market economy.
Private ownership. Competition.
Global companies.
We also have social reforms: healthcare, paid parental leave, paid vacation, and social security.
This is not socialism.
This is not communism.
It’s capitalism with guardrails.
The market creates wealth.
Society prevents bad luck from becoming a life sentence.
Our freedoms are intact.
Our economy is competitive.
And no — this isn’t theory.
I live it.
Støre, Norway PM: I looked Trump in the eyes and said, 100 km from my border is the world’s largest nuclear arsenal. It is not directed against me, but against you. We monitor those submarines and share it with you.
It is plain wrong, to say NATO gives nothing in return. 1/
Wow. It’s really scary watching conservatives suddenly want to 1) eliminate checks and balances 2) eliminate state rights 3) expand federal power 4) openly calling for the President to break LAWS (you can’t send federal troops into states without Governors invitation) which he is tasked to enforce 5) openly calling for the President to defy judges orders
Whatever you are - you aren’t for “Law and Order”, not pro-Constitution, not pro-America.
@British_Airways The MCT is a guide on how long it might take me to connect from one flight to another. By bumping me based on MCT but still allowing passengers who havent even arrived at the airport yet (checked in online) to make it to the gate undermines BAs reasoning for bumping me.
@British_Airways prematurely cancelled our connecting flight, deciding we didnt have time to make the gate. We had 1hr 10 mins! AND the next flight was delayed anyway. We were ready to run. We 100% would have made it. Check-in was still open when they cancelled us. Denied claim.
@British_Airways If I had arrived at the airport as a passenger just taking the second flight an hour before departure, I would have still been able to check in at the desk and been allowed to try and make it the gate in time. Why is arriving from a connecting flight any different?
