There has always been a generation gap because as youths we all tend to disdain hypocrisy and platitudes while being open to new ideas, always attempting to face the world with honesty. The only way to prevent a generation gap is by keeping those attitudes vital as we age!

@Claudia37Cleo The ultimate finiteness of our existence is neither good nor bad, happy nor sad - it just is. However reflecting on it can help us set more meaningful and fulfilling priorities. Who wants to waste much time on petty longings when our time has limit?
Two types of greatness beckon us. Wealth, power and authority on the one hand and spiritual-moral greatness on the other. Wealth and power tend to dissipate during the course of one's lifetime whereas the spiritual-moral quality outlasts and survives human frailty and weakness.
