@jcbriscoe1 One of the first things I ask when people want to talk about putting a QOL assessment in their study is this: "what do you have in mind... what do you mean, exactly.. and what are the domains of QOL you think are most relevant here?"
The difference between consulting on a grant proposal and reviewing a proposal, is like the difference between teaching and grading. One is generative and the other is a little heart-breaking.
@waq0r Donald Patrick (University of Washington, USA) has thought about this as well. Might be reflected in some of his writing on QOL in particular populations and on stigma.
