Implementing a 5-day banking week conclusively addresses fatigue and boosts the well-being of bank employees. #5DayWeekandFairPLI #AIBOC @PMOIndia

India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.

At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.

Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.

A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.

A 5-day banking week in India would enhance work-life balance for bank employees, leading to better performance and customer service! #Approve5DayBankingNow https://t.co/8XW2xhnwm4

Policy makers talk about productivity while forcing burnout on bank employees. Hypocrisy won’t run a modern economy. Act with responsibility. Approve the 5-day banking week.

More restful bank employees create more innovative solutions, bolstering the growth of the financial sector in India. #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/0wgOMLE2eN

[All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) @aiboc_in]

A rested workforce serves the public better. With staff shortages and rising stress, 5-day banking is a service-quality issue, not a “perk.” UFBU has pursued this since 2015; IBA has recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and it’s included in the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024), pending clearances.
Let’s finish what’s already agreed.
