@shanksyboy@ClintonDesveaux Why are you calling for a Genocide against Quebec? At the veary least you are calling for the deaths of hundred of thousands of Canadians over words you do not like.
@Bgrew11@Eyalo365 "I wich the US would have killed a few million civilians by now, then the situation would be better for the stock market" yeesh, and y'all wonder why the rest of the world treat you like unhinged lunatics?
@PapalOrthodixie@CarolinaLion2 My weekly grocery bill for a family of two adults and a child average 200-300 CAD. That feeds two adults 3 meals a day, 7 days + the kid's food. That's 4-7 CAD a meal, excluding the kid's food. Prep time excluding one made by SAHW average to 20 minutes/day. How do you go cheaper?
@CarolinaLion2 For my family of two adults and a child, grocery for a week is 200-300CAD. If we assume the kid eats nothing, it is still 4-7CAD per meal for the two adults. There is no eat out option that cheap. And in reality the 200-300 includes food for the kid and snacks.
@Real_Politik101 And, honestly, if the midterms are not a resounding blue wave, most people in Canada will take it as a proof that the annexation threats are in fact backed by the US population. There is already 0 pushback from politician/the US people against it anyways.
@JohnFindsYouJew@MUUURTTT Using Eritrea 1993 is like using CSA 1861. It is not the final end date for the separation process since a whole war about it still happens afterwards.
@JohnFindsYouJew@MUUURTTT Did the independence process finish in 1993? Cause if both side of the independence war are still in open armed conflict 5 years after, maybe the process wasn't finished. The end result is what matters, not what the situation is at a single transition point in the process.
@JohnFindsYouJew@MUUURTTT What does not conform to reality/history in my post?
You pretending like Ethiopia let the Eritrean separatists keep Ethiopian citizenship is verifiably false. Both countries do not allow their citizens to have be simultaneously citizen of the other.
@MUUURTTT@stormydrainiels Ethiopian law doesn't allow dual citizenship. Not a single Eritrean is also Ethiopian.Ethiopian in Eritrea are exclusively residents who refused or where not granted Eritrean citizenship. The opposite of a breakaway country whose citizens kept their previous citizenship by default

@Navier_Tokes@NicD903@menard_ray@jkenney You are factually wrong. Here is the official UK government position on Hong Kong citizens and British overseas citizenship status :
@CoryBMorgan@Albertaardvark It is not a threat though. If Alberta secede, the whole point would be to stop behing Canadian. It is delusional to think the population of the breakaway country would retain full citizenship rights but none of the duties linked to said citizenship. Never happened in history
@Navier_Tokes@NicD903@menard_ray@jkenney Since HK definitely does not fit the "a state break-up where the breakaway populace retained their previous citizenship" question, do you have any exemple that does fit (I am not checking preemptively every single ex british colonies, but if you give me exemple, I will do)?
@KayceKasem@DimitrisSoudas The separatist argument is that they definetly will keep full Canadian citizenship upon separation. This is a delusional non-starter. Maybe I misinterpreted your post has supporting this POV
@Martyupnorth There is not a single instance in the entire human history where the citizens of a breakaway country kept their previous citizenship. Thinking this would happen for Alberta just because it'd be convenient for separatists is delusional.
@MUUURTTT Why would this case be different? What is fundamentally different between Alberta leaving and the breakup of Yougoslavia, Tchecoslovakia, the Soviet Union, ect?
