People clamor for "something other than JS!" in browsers all the time.
Other than the eye-rolling ignorance of JS that often drives such sentiment, there's another BIG reason that's a bad idea (for whatever lang would be chosen) that's never talked about...
☝️code being "more readable" is a lie developers tell each other (and themselves) to justify their bias
What makes code "readable" is _subjective_ to the team and also to the project
Being consistent within a project is what makes the code _idiomatic_
