@noah_nonsense It remains fragile and unpredictable in terms of security. But there have been some hopeful steps recently, with the UN structured dialogue & an agreement on a unified budget. Hopefully this can lead to greater stability & a safer environment for visitors

@meolscop1978@UNESCO@UKinLibya It’s a fragile and unpredictable security situation, & problems can arise suddenly. So we can’t consider it safe to travel, & our Travel Advice recommends against travel (essential only some places). I really hope the recent steps forward lead to a more lasting & stable Libya
@Tunisia_1943 The recent unified budget agreement is a step forward. Inshallah we will see more positive developments towards peace & stability, and one day others will be able to enjoy the remarkable cultural heritage in Libya
@Tunisia_1943 It’s tricky. Libya has huge tourism potential (among many other things). But it is a fragile and unpredictable security situation, & problems can arise suddenly. So we can’t consider it safe to travel, & our Travel Advice recommends against travel (essential only some places)
Yesterday I met with Prime Minister Abdulhamid Debeiba. We discussed progress towards political unification and stability in Libya, and the importance of all actors working together to find a sustainable and inclusive solution.
Happy King’s Day to 🇳🇱 friends & thanks @NLambLib for a colourful and fun event! A masterclass in soft power (fresh stroopwafel and poffertjes!) Also value how they held space for civil society orgs & showcased 🇱🇾 cultural offer of Tripoli Studio and some impressive musicians
Great to get to Benghazi for my first visit (of many inshallah!). And what a great way to start, with the impressive @LibyaBuild exhibition. An inspiring showcase of plans and projects, expertise and international interest

Hot cross buns, a very 🇬🇧 Easter tradition. The cross symbolises the crucifixion, but today they are enjoyed by people of all faiths and none.
Perfect slathered in butter and enjoyed with a cup of tea (of course).
Happy Easter to all who are celebrating.
