A massive plan to restore and rewild decimated peat bog has been announced for the north of England. Emblehope, an estate in Northumberland, will be taken over by the rewilding business Restore. The Kennel Club has owned the site since 2016, running bird shoots.

In Saltash, children with fireworks are believed to have devastated Churchtown Nature Reserve, while at Dovestone near Oldham, another fire is thought to have started the same way. A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to the Dovestone fire.
