Let’s celebrate with peaceful prayers for justice for #RodneyReed, Stacy Stites, all accused people & all crime victims. But please know, while Reed is more famous than others, issues plaguing his conviction are too common for us to be comfortable with death penalty for anyone. https://t.co/jKneX1npVX
MAJOR #RodneyReed NEWS: The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles just unanimously voted to recommend a 120-day reprieve. @GovAbbott should follow their recommendation and grant the reprieve immediately.
THANK YOU to the millions of people who signed petitions, made phone calls, wrote letters, and advocated for #RodneyReed! You helped save an innocent man’s life!

MORE #RodneyReed NEWS: The TX Court of Criminal Appeals has granted a stay of execution until further notice. The CCA sent Rodney’s case back to the trial court in Bastrop for further hearings on several different issues. We will continue fighting alongside Rodney and his family.
NEWS: The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals just granted a stay of execution for Ruben Gutierrez. Ruben will NOT be executed on October 30th. Cameron County courts completely bungled the legal process dealing with the execution warrant. More details soon.
Texas has already executed innocent people. Carlos DeLuna and Cameron Todd Willingham are two examples — they were exonerated after Texas killed them. Please do not add #RodneyReed to that list, @GovAbbott. Cancel the November 20th execution date now!
#RodneyReed is an innocent Black man who was wrongfully convicted of killing a white woman based on false forensics and a shoddy investigation when all the evidence actually points to a white police officer. This is a story of racial injustice in our dysfunctional legal system.
I hope he gets so much money to set his family up forever. Our system needs some real attention. 28 years. All that he missed and he is not holding a grudge. Powerful.
FREE MAN: Corey Atchison, who served 28 years in prison for a murder he did not commit, walked out of an Oklahoma prison after a district judge dropped the charges.
"I can't hold no grudge," he said. "Life's too short." https://t.co/RWy2qPEHmQ
