.@BernieSanders on the 2024 result: "It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them... Will the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign?"
What’s happening how great octopus’s garden. Has streamed over 100 million streams I gotta tell you that’s a lot so thank you everybody. I send you peace and love 😎✌️🌟❤️🌈🎶🍒🌻🥦☮️
@torontomike@scottcarefoot Very very sorry to hear this, Scott was absolutely on the vanguard of the new media/fan perspective with Raptors Blog. He had an acerbic, hilarious tone in covering a team that was so badly managed for so long. Glad he got to see a championship, RIP.
@havn_espresso@geekchef @nestruck Just traveled from Munich to Berlin (approx 650 km) first class, in a high speed train with a family of four. It was under 200 CAD all in.
I am not blaming him personally. His govt has undermined the child protection system with a chaotic system redesign. His govt closed the Ministry of Children and Youth. His govt closed the Child Advocate Office. His government hollowed out every community support for parents
@doughboyspod California sandwiches, kinton ramen, burger’s priest, osmow’s shawarma and jerk king are good answers. Pizza pizza is omnipresent but widely acknowledged to be terrible.
@ZeynabDay This is a pretty condescending thing to say. And what policies do you see her as abandoning? And don’t you think she prob feels an ethical responsibility to keep the party as united and broad as possible in the face of white nationalist fascism?
@_giacomo_volpe_@YeloBike No. It is pure politics. They are (probably) looking at Nevada and thinking that it could be a 1-2 point swing that might determine the election. It is a super dumb policy but I’m fine with it all things considered.
@GTO479@LordDSofCanada@MayorOliviaChow 1. It was Tory who directed the change of the Dundas street name in 2021, and Chow (through council) had that direction paused in 2023.
2. Chow has pulled Toronto out of a fiscal crisis by deftly levering big time investment from the provincial and federal governments.
@LordDSofCanada@MayorOliviaChow Sorry to report that she has been a very effective mayor with a busy legislative and policy agenda. She also has the energy to represent the city at our largest cultural events on her personal time, which is kind of what you want in a mayor?
@scorn_chip I think the real answer is that ontarians have proven they are pretty much fine with governments who do not try and do any big things, and the pcpo has avoided making large, visible structural changes. Even if that entails a massive opportunity cost (see Toronto and John Tory).
These designs for a new Toronto park (70 Croatia) are both seriously flawed.
- Not enough seating
- Not enough shade
- No relation to adjacent buildings
- Lots of paved space w/o purpose
- Bits of “lawn” too small to use
