AI layoffs are no longer hypothetical.
Over the past few weeks:
• Block announced ~4,000 layoffs while saying AI allows smaller teams to do more
• Pinterest and Dow linked job cuts to AI‑driven restructuring
• An enterprise AI firm cut over a quarter of its workforce citing AI efficiency
• Analysts estimate tens of thousands of tech jobs already affected by AI transformation
This pattern is exactly what I explore in my book.
The shift isn’t a sudden “robots replace everyone” moment.
It’s something more subtle:
Smaller teams.
Higher output per person.
AI agents quietly absorbing tasks that once required entire departments.
That is the core idea behind “Agents Per Person.”
The real impact of AI won’t just be new tools.
It will be a structural compression of organisations, where autonomous agents multiply what each person can produce.
We’re now seeing the first real-world signals of that shift.
If you want to understand what this means for careers, companies, and the future of work:
@Scobleizer@AnthropicAI Agreed - I switched back to Codex late last night as I was over the usage limits hitting so fast....
Found my groove again with Codex.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

@DudespostingWs Would be amazing to see someone cover The Adventures of Batman & Robin from the Sega Mega drive. Blessed to have experienced it in my childhood.
Patent systems are first-to-file. It's produced a quiet two-tier system: well-funded companies file in 48 hours. Everyone else waits weeks.
Today we're announcing @fearn_ai's $5.5M seed to end that gap. 🧵
Lots of people asked how I used Fable to edit its own launch video so I made a video about that!
TLDR it wrote a lot of code & tool calls to use transcription services, ffmpeg, do colorgrading, use the figma mcp, make remotion UI and render it.
I didn't touch a video editor.
