Fantastic article by @BobHEcon highlighting the recruitment crisis in Economics teaching.
The fastest growing A-level subject since 1999, but only 40 new PGCE Economics teachers since 2017/18 (a figure for those starting, not finishing the course)

@jeanmarron Hello. I have just seen this, as I don't check social media as much now!
What type of session? I am a Business and Economics teacher, but may be able to find other providers.
Thanks.

๐ Last month, new data based on the first exams post-COVID at KS5 (A levels) was published.
Our analysis found that the gap between those who were eligible for Free School Meals at age 16 and their classmates is now at its widest since 2016 ๐

A big thank you to all our #Sixthform students and local primary schools who have been involved with the Mentoring this year. Our students have done @HabsAdamsGS#proud with their professionalism & hard work. We wish them the best of luck for their exams ๐
Sunak announces spending of ยฃ4.7bn on schools by 2025 - returning to 2010 real term spending levels - returning to a level last seen 15 years ago is testimony to the depth of austerity. If corporates paid their proper taxes, we could afford to do so much more #theme2macro
"The notion that people are individual maximisers, with fixed preferences uninfluenced by others, was always incorrect but is absurdly so in an age of social media driven by advertising revenues."

Once again, the poor and the marginalised are impacted by the actions of those seeking to maximise profits for those who have sufficient. #Whereisthecare.
Very disappointed with @HSBC_UK I manage a very small charitable social enterprise. We bank with @HBSC. We have been denied online banking for a while, and now, unless we switch to another bank, we will be paying ยฃ5 per month in fees, charges for cash deposits, and cheques.
Online banking is free, but we cannot have it. Switching to another bank in Covid times is very difficult. Have been into local branch. They can't help. Poor job @HSBC_UK . Charitable support - I think not. I am so cross. #HSBC#Poorcustomerservice
