A BIG congratulations to the #merrillmade winners and finalists of the Society of Professional Journalists Region 2 Mark of Excellence Awards! 🎉🎉🎉

#UMD students won eight awards along with 10 finalists across 13 categories, spanning print/online, photography/videography/art/graphics/multimedia, broadcast and all platform competitions. The recognized projects were from Merrill College's Capital News Service and CNS TV (@cnsmd), and The Diamondback (@thedbk).

Sixteen students were honored, in addition to the CNS and CNS TV teams. Four students earned multiple honors — Eddy Calkins (@eddycalkins3), Molecule Jongwilai, Zion Williams and Ben Wolf. Each won once and was named a finalist once.
