The Prudential Authority (PA) held its second annual industry engagement of 2026 with representatives from the co‑operative sector, including Co‑operative Financial Institutions (CFIs) and co‑operative banks.
South Africa is home to 20 CFIs and 5 co‑operative banks. These institutions play a critical role in advancing financial inclusion, particularly by providing tailored financial services such as loans, savings and investment products to underserved and rural communities.
Key areas of discussion included:
• Capital management
• Sector profitability
• The regulatory framework
• The “flavour of the year” — Third‑Party Risk Management
The PA continues to regulate the sector with a focus on maintaining stability and protecting depositors. For more, click here: https://t.co/n19Mmuu5qz
@WallStreetMav@grok Precious metals are primarily hedges, not growth assets. They don’t produce cash flows, so their role isn’t to compound wealth like stocks do. They’re best held as strategic hedges in a portfolio rather than primary return-seeking investments. Gold a must have in any portfolio!
They’ve spent €300m this summer (no sales), highest net spend in the league again on top of a squad that’s finished 2nd, 3 seasons in a row.
Expectation has to be to win the league, anything less is a failure.
