Within minutes, the hospital’s own CEO is on a live TV phone call with President Ruto, disowning them on air — as “fake news”. Not a statement. Not an audit. Not a reconciliation of figures. A phone call, live, choreographed for maximum optics.
🔴 This is the pattern: when uncomfortable data surfaces on SHA, the response isn’t to publish the claims register, show the payment trail, or let Gikonyo and the hospital reconcile numbers in public. It’s a call-in performance designed to manufacture a retraction moment for the cameras.
🔴 If the claims were false, prove it with the ledger. If they were true, own it and fix it. Drama is not data. Kenyans don’t need a live phone call — they need SHA’s claims and payments made transparent and auditable, hospital by hospital.
🔴 And it says everything that instead of confronting these health-financing questions directly, the man from the Governor’s office showed up chanting #Tutam. Health isn’t being fixed. It’s being managed as a PR problem
