@BuckSexton Used to be Megyn Kelly before she lost her mind. I refuse to listen to her anymore.
PBD is pretty good, but I really don't have one anymore.
Depression will not be eased in eternity.
Depression will be eviscerated in eternity.
We will be free.
We will be joyful always.
We will be loved without inflection of sorrow.
We will not have to battle for joy.
For the believer, depression will end.
Jesus will end it.
Last Monday afternoon, something happened—captured by security cameras at the Pine Hollow animal shelter in Bowling Green, Kentucky—that employees say they still cannot watch without crying. The man in the video is Walter. He is fifty-eight years old. Three months ago, he retired after working as a mail carrier for thirty-two years. For decades, his life had been defined by a precise routine: early mornings, delivery routes, familiar streets, familiar faces. Every day had a shape and a purpose. Then, suddenly, retirement arrived. His wife, Denise, later said that the silence in the house began to affect him almost immediately. Walter wasn't unhappy; he was just... adrift, without his usual points of reference. For weeks, he had been visiting a local dog shelter; one day, on his own, he found a dog that was even lonelier than he was, and they formed a bond the likes of which is rarely seen. So, we find ourselves asking: who saved whom?
If you are a Christian, all of your pain will be erased.
Every heartache.
Every ruptured relationship.
Every regret.
Every consequence of sin.
Every unrighted wrong.
The King is coming.
Jesus will make everything right.
He has purchased your healing by a blood sacrifice.
In Zechariah 12:10 Yahweh Himself declares:
“They will look on Me whom they have pierced…”
Pause and let that sink in.
When was Yahweh ever pierced?
This is one of the most powerful prophecies in the OT written hundreds of years before the cross.
Yahweh speaking in the first person, saying He would be pierced by His own people and then mourned for.
The only fulfillment in history of such an event is Jesus of Nazareth on the cross.
Same God.
Same pierced hands and side.
Same promise of redemption.
The OT doesnt just hint at the Messiah….it reveals the shocking truth that the Son of God himself would enter our suffering and be pierced for our transgressions.
Who else but Jesus fulfilled this? Nothing in history comes close. Jesus is Yahweh the Son…..who came in the flesh and dwelt among us.
