then it can derive a client for any website which is more efficient than browser controlling it every time

Being a developer through the 2010s and 2020s meant that you were hyper specialized into just the code. We're starting to see the unravelling of that. Domain knowledge outside of syntax was always valuable, but often overshadowed by the "WOW you know how to CODE???" abilities.
