Celebrating the French Revolution means celebrating this:
The first genocide of modern times was the genocide of Vendée. In 18 months - up to the beheading of Robespierre on July 27, 1794 - 117,000 people from the Vendée region were murdered with the declared aim of carrying out a genocide.

Reason: the population supported the Catholic creed and faith in Christ. People were killed and flayed from the waist down, with their skin tanned and used to make trousers for the soldiers. 150 women’s bodies were boiled to obtain 10 barrels of grease.

The case of Marie Leroy is illustrative. She was a seamstress with two invalid parents. She denied having hidden priests. It was recorded that she could not sign the trial minutes because she was illiterate.
