@Davidwillashley And of course huge thanks to our funders @WestonFdn for enabling us to build such an important and hopeful @kewscience programme of conservation for the trees of Madagascar! Our programme yesterday included a tour of our new facility at SNGF in our new project vehicle
The project, launched this week, aims to conserve at least 500 of #Madagascar’s rarest tree species, including by supporting SNGF’s seed bank.
It will also increase the supply of seeds from indigenous 🇲🇬 tree species for reforestation.
Thanks to @WestonFdn for their support.
Seeds we collected in Madagascar arrived at the MSB yesterday, how exciting to unload and find that the Olax antsiranensis is looking nice and viable...going to check back in four weeks' time to see how it fares on an agar plate...
Happy World Mangrove Day! 🌱💙

Lake Sofia is the origin of the name of the region where it is located. It's an upland lake that lies at about 1,100 m. The mini watershed of Sofia Lake includes marshes, remnants of natural forests on the edges of the lake, & savanna formations.
