JUST IN. Senate panel approves the P2.385-billion proposed budget of the Office of the Vice President.
The hearing was cut short as Sen. Revilla moves to end the budget deliberations. Only Senators Pimentel and Hontiveros quizzed VP Duterte about confidential funds. | via @bnzmagsambol https://t.co/HXIkvW05uo
If we lower the temperature a little (I know, impossible), 2023 Gilas results in World Cup aren't much different from 2014 Gilas WC. Both teams 1-4, same head coach, both teams led by volume-scoring NPs who were seen as talented but somewhat one-dimensional in their NBA careers
It's crazy how many people want to see LeBron James fail.
Even when 8th graders fail a math test, it's seen as a failure for LeBron. Like he's LeTeacher or something.
"0% of 8th graders in LeBron's 'I Promise' School have passed the state's math exam since 2018."
The most important thing when a new headline comes out isn't the information that's mentioned, but the information that is deliberately left out.
Let's be clear: ZERO students passing is a bad thing. But there's more to this story mainstream media doesn't want you to hear:
🔸To qualify for the 'I Promise' School you must come from the bottom 25% of the state's reading exam.
🔸28% of students at the school have a disability.
🔸Most admitted students are not proficient in math at their grade level. They are years behind coming in.
🔸42% of these students progressed a full year in math, but they're not proficient at their grade level yet.
🔸The entire country is seeing reading and math test scores plummet since the pandemic.
🔸Overall, reading and math scores throughout America have been significantly declining since 2012.
Anyone can find this information, but most won't bother considering the only reason they're talking about 8th-grade math in the first place is because it's linked to a celebrity.
LeBron's mission is not just to make 13-year-olds pass an exam. The bigger purpose of his school is to attack a generational education issue in America. An issue where at-risk kids don't get the classrooms, teachers, and opportunities LeBron is providing at his school.
But the internet just doesn't seem to care…🤷🏽♂️
SEN. TULFO: “Bakit po magiging agresibo si Awra sa isang lalaki…bakit niya gagawin ‘yun?”
MAKATI PNP: “Eh alam mo naman, si Awra is gay, gusto niya makita ‘yung magandang katawan…”

I’m not sure what bothers me more: being impersonated on the comments section of the livestream of my sister’s graduation or people thinking that this is something to joke about. Hindi nakakatawa at hindi nakakatuwa. Pakiusap – please stop.
