Digital violence is escalating sharper, faster, and more harmful than ever
On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we go UNMUTED.
Because women and girls deserve safety online and offline.
#ACTtoEndViolence#SRHRDialogues#16DaysofActivism
From African countries, women and girls standing together against digital violence and all forms of GBV.
We speak. We demand.
We resist loudly, boldly, unapologetically.
This is what UNMUTED looks like.

Something powerful is coming.
Tomorrow, we go UNMUTED.
A bold call to confront the violence women and girls face online and offline.
From digital harm to violations of bodily autonomy, we are turning silence into resistance and truth into power.
Our voices aren’t optional.
Our bodies aren’t battlegrounds.
Our safety is non-negotiable.
Stay ready. Stay loud. Stay UNMUTED.

Building assertive and confident next generation leaders is our concern. As part of the "she leads" Project,we had a leadership and SRHR session with young people in Moree Senior High school. We dymestified myths and stereotypes, and encouraged them to lead!

🗣️We speak for ourselves because no one else should decide our future.📢
#SheLeads girls met with Esin Erdoğan from the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands to the UN in Geneva, and Merijn van Bruggen from the Netherlands Mission to the EU.
We held bold, honest conversations on integrating the SheLeads programme into global and regional efforts that promote girls’ rights and gender equality.
Some powerful takeaways:
🔹 Embassies are increasingly supporting grassroots-led change — we were encouraged to initiate partnerships in our home countries.
🔹 The Dutch mission reaffirmed its commitment to civic space, protection of women and girls, LGBTQ+ rights, and accountability.
🔹 I raised the link between food security and climate change — and was reminded that cross-sector collaboration can lead to meaningful, sustainable change.
We left the meeting more energized, knowing that our voices matter in global decision-making spaces.

The current funding models, often rooted in patriarchal structures and short-term project cycles, inherently limit our ability to achieve transformative and sustainable change for women and girls. We must challenge these paradigms and advocate for flexible, long-term, and feminist-informed funding that truly empowers grassroots organizations and addresses systemic inequalities.

I raise my voice today to honour the girls and young women whose lives have been tragically cut short by war and conflict. We carry their names not just in mourning, but in our continued march for justice. We are building powerful movements that champion gender equality and protect the livelihoods of girls and young women- Mama Sampy

27 cyclones in Mozambique with women giving birth on trees?🤔Flood in almost every African country? The intersection between climate and gender cannot be overlooked. Women suffer the most in times of climate crisis. #Climatejustice#genderjustice@FemnetProg

Girls need decent toilets and running water to wash their hands to comfortably use their sanitary towels.
In Ghana and other African countries, not all schools can boast of decent toilets facilities. Let's provide the best for our girls!! #nomensuralpoverty

We had a fruitful discussion on how young women can actively participate and influence the Assembly 's budgetary allocations to their pertinent needs.
We also encouraged them to attend Town Hall meetings and make their concerns known.
