TODDLER KILLED BY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CT REFUSED TO TRANSFER TO ICE

2 year-old Liam Rivera of Stamford was tragically killed by Edgar Gomez, an illegal immigrant who should have been in federal custody after a prior assault conviction.
According to reports, Gomez had already been convicted for breaking Liam’s arm.
Under normal cooperation with federal authorities, he would have been transferred to ICE for removal proceedings.
But he wasn’t.
Because of Connecticut’s 2019 Sanctuary State law, state agencies were blocked from notifying or coordinating with federal authorities, allowing Gomez to remain in the community instead of being turned over to the Feds.
That decision had fatal consequences.
If cooperation with ICE had been allowed, Liam would likely still be alive today.
There were no press conferences.
No marches.
No widespread outrage.
Not a single high-profile call for accountability after Liam’s death.
