When people say "I'd do anything for my child," everyone praises them, but when a parent risks crossing a border to save their child from war, poverty, or danger, suddenly they're treated like criminals.
one thing about me is i am ALWAYS going to watch the end credits of a movie. how else would i find out that the actual real name of one of the pilots who worked on top gun was peter “horse” caulk like come onnnn
“I feel the need… the need for speed.”
There are aircraft that become icons. And then there are aircraft that become legends.
The F-14 Tomcat is a unique combination of performance, presence, operational history and cinematic legacy that turned it into one of the most recognizable and loved aircraft ever built.
And perhaps, incredibly, the story of the already legendary Tomcat may not be over yet.
As we recently reported, new legislation nicknamed the “Maverick Act” could eventually allow at least one retired U.S. Navy F-14D to be restored to flyable condition for preservation and airshow purposes (https://t.co/mNsS7Khml7)
On Top Gun Day, we celebrate not only a movie, but also the passion for aviation that the Tomcat inspired across generations of enthusiasts, photographers, pilots (naval aviators) and maintainers.
Happy Top Gun Day from The Aviationist.
