@MissMooWiddit Mothering Sunday is a UK tradition. Hamnet was all about being the mother of Shakespeare’s child. Other countries in Europe and around the globe celebrate Mother’s Day on different dates. For example next Thursday (Feast of St Joseph) is Fathers Day in many places.
@limerickjfk@eoghancorry I’m assuming it’s out of Dubai? I’m in same boat. My flight is open for online check in - but not to me! It’s scheduled to leave Dubai at 14.35 on Friday. I intend going to airport as I assume the advice relates to those who’ve had flights cancelled.
@adrianweckler About seven already in past week. All different +44 numbers. I don’t answer and block. Some leave voicemails asking to be added to WhatsApp
@conor_pope Yes for sure. The reasoning is that they’re cutting down on waste. You should be able to request more but, as this causes an interruption and a delay - very few people ask. EG - a tiny pat of butter between six people.
@conor_pope I have to remember to get cash for the local film club entrance charge every two weeks. It’s an awful nuisance as I just use my phone for everything else
@caulmick@olivercallan I was walking behind three seemingly homeless immigrants on Cork’s Oliver Plunkett St as they ransacked every bin for cans and bottles. Just imagine how hygienic they are in the stupid machines 😱. I re-fuse to use them.
@COSullivanTD The service for recycling by Cork CC is totally inadequate in Clonakilty. An entrance fee to dispose of glass bottles. Centre closed Mondays and every day for lunch. Bottle banks in Rosscarbery filled to overflowing in one day by publicans etc.
@philipnolan1 The charge seems inevitable. Almost everyone consults it now instead of newspapers. I just hope that the charges will bring about changes in how the condolences are monitored/edited. I have a big problem with all the anonymous contributors eg ‘Irish Mother’ etc
