The moment that he clinched the nomination in Michigan, Republicans began rolling out attack ads using his full name, attempting to paint him as some kind of Islamic extremist. It has the same ring as the "Barack Hussein Obama" canard that Trump still trots out to this day.

It's pathetic.

Republicans are desperately hoping that weaponized bigotry will cover up for the fact that they have no policy proposals to help average Michiganders. They want to distract from their failed Iran War, the affordability crisis, and their ongoing coverup of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking network, but it won't work.

The Republican Party is a pro-war, pro-pedophilia, pro-oligarchy criminal organization led by an old man with worsening dementia. A vote for one of these hacks is a vote to destroy your own country.

El-Sayed's point about many Americans having a doctor with a similar name to his is well-observed. There's nothing scary about Arabic names. Most of us live and go to work beside people of every ethnicity, religious creed, and sexual orientation. We are a multicultural democracy and the only ones who seem to forget that are the Fox News and Twitter-obsessed MAGA weirdos who have imbibed the white nationalist Kool-Aid.
