Lawyers, stop obsessing over what AI can build. Start thinking about what it means. Reflecting, challenging your assumptions, growing. That's the work now.
Comedy of AI errors: Lawyers on both sides of a case misuse AI, cite fake hallucinated cases.
At the show-cause hearing, "each of the attorneys expressed embarrassment and apologized to the Court."
"Neither of them verified the legal authority output by AI before filing their briefs."
In other words, there were two clients who basically were paying for ChatGPT (or whatever LLM) to argue against itself.
Neither of them realized this until the court issued the OSC!
Fines all around (between $1,000 and $3,500), other sanctions include pro hac status revoked, disqualified from practicing in the district for 2 years, among other things:
🚨 CEO of Nvidia: "I'd hire the graduate who's expert in AI over the one who isn't. Every time"
he's not talking about people who use AI
everyone uses AI.
he's talking about people who know the stack.

Sullivan & Cromwell, a premier Wall Street law firm, apologized to a federal judge for submitting a court filing with inaccurate citations and other errors generated by artificial intelligence. https://t.co/4c9dZLNuWS
@OrinKerr I can attest, using Claude since it launched it is mind blowing and can do a whole day's research of a senior counsel in minutes at a fraction of the usual expense.
Joe Maher? Oh man, where do I even start with this absolute legend of low blows? The guy's got the kind of reputation that makes even the refs wince. They say he pinched a dude's balls in a game like it was the highlight reel move of the season – not a tackle, not a block, just straight-up reaching for the family jewels like he's auditioning for a very niche WWE spot. 😂
I don’t follow hockey, but this had me tearing up. They brought their teammate’s (who was killed by a drunk driver) kids out onto the ice with their dad’s jersey to celebrate the moment. 🥹
This is a really good article. AI is going to wipe out millions of jobs. It’s happening now. Everything is changing. The avalanche is already here. Most of what we’re currently arguing about will be irrelevant very soon.
@elonmusk What happened to the great US? Why is it so difficult to get rid of these imbeciles with such low IQ in a country that leads the world, astonishing.
