“Buildings, books, and technology matter, but it is the teacher who turns them into learning.”
Dr Nelson Mbarushimana, DG of the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB), representing the Minister of Education, shared this message as 137 teachers received certificates after completing the CPD–Graduate Diploma in Education.
His message: “Never stop learning. Education keeps changing.” He urged graduates to be role models, support colleagues and keep learners at the heart of their work.
At the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for A1-holder secondary school teachers who successfully completed the CPD–Graduate Diploma in Education, Principal Prof. Florien Nsanganwimana highlighted the programme’s commitment to strengthening teacher professionalism.
“I want to make very clear that the professional diploma in education that you are receiving today meets the same standards as any other qualification awarded by university because the development and teaching and assessment followed our own standards.”
The programme’s practical design combined 11 modules, online and weekend learning, continuous assessment, subject-specific pedagogy and school attachments-equipping 137 teachers with essential pedagogical knowledge and classroom experience.
Today, 137 secondary school teachers celebrate a major milestone as they receive the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) after successfully completing the CPD-GDE programme.
Congratulations to all graduates on this well-deserved achievement!
