The main use case for being insane (in a high functioning way, as opposed to a crash out prone psychotic way) is immunity to demoralisation.
Things are stacked against you in such a way, that becoming cynical, hopeless and perpetually demoralised is a rational response to the conditions you are subjected to, because logically evaluating trends will repeatedly show you how improbable desirable outcomes are for you, and how futile many of your efforts will be.
This is why rationality, whilst useful as a tool in isolation, is a poor operational mode of being - followed to its ultimate conclusions, it can only ever lead you to cynicism and nihilism - it will rob you of both force of being and meaning, because it presents what is probable as what is inevitable.
It says, there's a 90% chance the thing you hate will occur, and only a 10% chance the thing you love will occur. If you are rational, you say to yourself a 90% chance of failure... that isn't going to work then, and by accepting the 90% as if it were 100%, you lose your 10% chance.
In accepting what is reasonable, you destroy what is desirable. Instead of saying "against all odds" - you have let the odds define things for you - which is the opposite of what you want to do, where you recognise the 10% chance as the only acceptable outcome, and obsess over it no matter how irrational it is, until your irrationality becomes its own force that shifts those probabilities more favourably.
This is why no conqueror is truly rational. They may employ logic to understand the structure of things, yes, but they are not obedient to it as a governing system which dictates their general orientation and approach to things. They do not enthrone reason as the master of their soul, because to do so would be to sterilise what drives them.
Rationality thus does not serve you here, but pure force of will, a love of beauty, and orienting your actions through the pursuit of the meaningful and transcendent does - and it is that which makes this form of insanity attractive - for it is coherent, generative and ultimately self-fulfilling. It doesn't have to pretend reality is something it's not, it simply doesn't accept the most immediate and obvious undesirable conclusions as inevitable and foregone.
This insanity is the refusal to despair because it is the refusal to obey entropy - it is a type of stubbornness that rather than yield to the world, bends it through nothing but sheer force of will.
It takes a very strong soul to be assertively optimistic, hopeful and positive in a culture full of people complaining, hating and doubting.
Believing you can conquer whatever you put your mind is to not a rational response to a society that repeatedly punishes your best efforts, rigs things against you, prices you out, doubts you, and is always telling you why you can't.
This is why you must become beautifully insane. Not in the "I am perpetually paranoid and imagine shit that isn't even real" sort of way, but in the "I'll take my chances on making the improbable beauty real" type of way. You will, as they say, shoot your fucking shot. Backwards. From the halfway line. And you will keep doing that and keep failing until eventually... it goes in.
Mediocrity is to be avoided and thus even moderation should be employed in moderation, but the flipside is that the same is true of intensity: protracted intensity will fuck you up just as much as protracted mediocrity - it is just more fun when you lose.
The dance lies in “getting the balance right,” which is not something the man passionately alive firing on all cylinders, in tune with his instincts and high off the scent of the evening air wants to hear.
Balance to the extremist, to the outlier, to the man who wants to vividly feel the spark and essence of life itself, reeks of mediocrity and compromise - and so he is averse to it. But these men conflate balance with mediocrity, when it does not have to be that.
To me, balance does not mean being the man in the middle, who never really takes a side because he sees the merit in both, who is never too much of one thing or too little of another. It means not populating one static extreme or not falling in love with one mode of extremism, but inhabiting many forms at different times as the scenario calls for. This makes you less predictable, more of a wildcard, and to my mind, a more complete person - you are versatile.
Balance can be phases of extreme order followed by phases of extreme chaos. Men who are too rule-following, and risk averse stagnate because they are consumed by the rigidity of orderliness, whilst men who are too chaotic doom spiral and destroy themselves through endless frivolous risk. The balance then, is to hit a ratio of order to chaos that allows you to rejuvenate, create, and experience vividly, whilst also maintaining and preserving the structures that sustain you. Starting from scratch over and over again is not a flex. It just means you never learn, and keep fucking it up.
Be a paradox. Do not just inhabit one realm of crazy. Be capable of extreme truth, and extreme cunning. Extreme compassion, and extreme ruthlessness. Reconcile your paradoxes so you do not get stuck in your lane, which is merely the preference of your natural temperament. Practice living in a way that does not come naturally to you so that you may enjoy its fruits, and then my friend, you may dance.
Adopting the fundamental winning mindset is simple.
The process can be started immediately:
1. Develop your systems to be as smooth and high yield as possible. Layer it with mastery, technique, perfection.
- Get better, constantly.
- Invest every effort + expense into learning + implementation.
- Your input is the key metric.
- Mastery is your inevitable output.
Inhumane results.
Become a concept.
2. The gap between 1st and 2nd place is often the same as the gap between 2nd and 100th place –– it is NOT linear.
- Rare air. You will need to do so much more than you think.
- 99.9% of the population will never touch it so they'll whine & moan about your attitude and methods. Forgive them, for they do not know.
But once you fully accept this it paradoxically becomes easy to go ahead and do it.
3. Make it incredibly difficult for anyone to compete with you.
Your focus is on yourself, their focus is on you.
- Be the type of person that never exhausts.
- Demoralise by your capacity to outlast.
- Move ONLY towards your ideal. Ignore the rest.
Outlast.
Become a freak.

When you get the bulk of your opinions on the opposite sex from ragebait podcasts where cynical midwit men aggressively question narcissistic prostitutes, I don't think you're doing yourself any favours. It is the philosophical equivalent of a reality TV show. You need to stop.

The journeyman remains forever at the initiatory state of mystical work because he misunderstands the fundamental causal effect magic exerts on the material realm.
Magic, on a universal level, is about efficiency.
Magic, in fact, submits primarily to efficiency, as in the most impressive effect achieved with the least amount of expenditure of energy and force.
The correct (and only) way to achieve the miraculous effect of a spell will always be the one that most efficiently achieves its objective.
For example - if a mountain is in your way...
Magic, fundamentally, is not about moving the mountain from one place to another.
It is about moving oneself into a realm where the mountain is no longer a hindrance.
For that objective of life to be achieved, one must submit himself to only the simplest and least dissonant solution.
Only the magicians in movies and theater have the need to throw fireballs at their enemies.
On the other hand, the magician of life, through mystical channels and pathways, will have seen himself entering a world where his enemies no longer exist at all.
Thusly, no magic is required - yet the objective is achieved.
Regardless of how it may appear at the time, your most authentic choice, the one that feels intuitively aligned, is often the best one. You will find that external containers and constructs begin to shift around and bend towards what you choose, even when it initially seems as though that which you feel with such resounding conviction, enough to haunt every waking moment you drift from it, is at the mercy of these conditions, as if the self must contort to fit man-made structures erected and entrenched for the sake of general consensus, regardless of whether they truly make sense, where perceived permanence is born not of discernment, but of blind inheritance.
If you are going to play, do so with your unabashed all, because if something does not capture your heart and grip your soul entirely, perhaps it was never destined to survive within you, perhaps it was meant to languish and perish with a whimper, its demise an ode to that which is truly yours, for confusion itself is an answer few wish to listen to, and half-hearted being breeds half-formed lives - there is a quiet arrogance to cowardly resignation, or worse, gluttonous complacency, a tepid humming hubris that dims the soul of its radiance, a wilful atrophying into mediocrity.
If you never allow your indomitable will the opportunity to express itself fully, you may never discover the true extent of its prowess, that which belongs to you alone, and that would be an utter tragedy. To move through life without ever touching the unique primordial force you are capable of embodying is an insult to the miracle of your existence.
Our world is an imperfect shadow of the perfect world.
We are all imperfect shadows of our perfected selves.
Learn to see the highest potential expression of everything and everyone around you.
Imagine perfect architecture, perfect relationships, perfect health, perfect happiness.
And you will begin to know what the perfect world is like.
The more you embody this perfection through acts of devotion - the closer you will bring yourself and others to achieving it.
The inevitable destiny of our Earth is to embody this perfected state.
Not to achieve it but to embody it.
But it is up to each individual how and when exactly that change is allowed to occur.
Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada spoke about the contradictions of human nature:
“Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one hardly ever use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about their living relatives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have one often don't appreciate it. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the satiated complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.”
The key to happiness is gratitude: truly seeing and appreciating what we already have, and understanding that somewhere, someone would give anything for what we take for granted.
@angeldevenganza When I recently watched Marty Supreme, it immediately brought to mind something you said in this piece that felt so apt for the film.
That guy was a 'NET NEGATIVE' to every single soul whose path he crossed.
I hope you were nowhere near as bad as him😂
