Unsure how to navigate life w/a novel virus and pandemic of misinfo?
#BeSmarterThanAVirus 😉
@nerds_humanity Not complaining, but there needs to be an add’l option:
Because It’s Trump (& he thinks he can do anything)°
° This is undergoing something of a paradigm shift but it will take his supporters, sycophants & donors some time to come around.😉

We're not on Twitter much. But earlier today, given current context re: #SARSCoV2, it was reassuring to see this incredibly thoughtful & informative thread from @Bob_Wachter.
From one NY-born, SF Bay loving soul to another, thank you sir, for helping ppl #BeSmarterThanAVirus...
Covid (@UCSF) Chronicles, Day 1161
With the Pub Health Emergency over, it's a good time to update you on my view of Covid & my current approach to Covid behavior – which is now based on 2 principles:
1) Is the risk worth it?
2) Can I live w/ the behavior for the long haul? (1/25)

Since early 2020, our advice hasn't changed...
Over here, not only are we still smarter than a virus (haven't tested positive for Covid yet!)- but we'd also like to think we know how to #BeSmarterThanATrumpSupporter.
As an example, at least one pol. running in 2024 knows how to use social media...

@1goodtern I think we all know the answer... Just wish there were more like us (and them!) to do what I call spreading the gospel! 😉
* Get vaccinated if you can.
* Stay aware of trends in your community.
* Use mitigation appropriate to your context.
* Spread this message & not #Covid!
@JReinerMD Maybe they never read my memo… (See photos for more incl. fine print.)
#BeSmarterThanAVirus, y’all… it’s not that hard!
*Get vaccinated if you can
*Stay aware of trends in your community
*Use mitigation as appropriate to your context
*Spread this message not #Covid!
@CDCgov
Yes, it’s true- #Covid is still a thing! (See latest from @ddiamond.)

@GangUbi Just one? I can think of several positive things re: gerrymandering. For example, it's not universal nor permanent... you know, like gravity. (AFAWK) #BeSmarterThanTuckerCarlson
BTW: We're loving @Fwd_Party and what they're trying to do. Really looking forward to more & soon...
@AshishKJha46 Yes, keep going- but don’t forget to address- tactically and tactfully- the misinformation so many people are still using as major and minor premises in their perceptions about SARS-CoV-2. For many, it’s not what to do- it’s why do anything at all? (Remember “It’s just a flu”?)
@joaquinlife Great question. Not only do I wish I knew the answer to your question- I wish everybody knew. (I can, however, answer- to a certain extent- *why* people don’t seem to know or care as it’s squarely in the realm of rhetoric and perception.)

An early, severe flu surge in the United States, together with increased spread of Covid, could put a damper on the holiday season. To mask or not to mask? Here's what to consider in the days and weeks ahead. 1/thread
@DrTomFrieden I’m not surprised- but am a bit surprised that other people are.
After all, I’ve yet to see anything which engages people & encourages a re-evaluation of rhetoric that’s been welded into partisan minds.
In other words, Covid ≠ Flu
@joaquinlife@meganranney@billmaher@CDCgov
WTF?
I say that b/c if we think of mitigation as +add’l barriers/defenses, isn’t proper design & use key?
#BeSmarterThanAVirus y’all… It’s really not that hard.

Just sharing: Ahead of some social events and travel, we got our 6th dose of a #CovidVaccine (and an annual #FluShot) yesterday. Haven't had #COVID19 yet & really don't want it. (In addition to not wanting to tangle w/a novel virus, getting it would be horribly off-brand. 🤣)
@JReinerMD Or, in other words:
#BeSmarterThanAVirus y'all... It's really not that hard!
* Stay aware of trends in your area
* Maintain Vax'd stats incl. boosters
* Assess risks IAW your context
* Rally w/PPE; use properly & as appropriate
* Tell & task others: #BeSmarterThanAVirus 😉
@FreeSpeechUSC@JReinerMD Thanks for asking! No, we are not being compensated by anyone for anything wrt social media activity or rhetoric- nor would we want to be.
