Here it comes. The one time in a year your fatherhood is celebrated. Being a father is the the biggest honour any man can have and the biggest responsibility you can be entrusted with. It is the apex metric of your masculinity because as head of your home, you shape society when you build a solid home.

When you become a father, you life takes a back seat as you prioritize the welfare of your family above self. The unending sacrifices of fatherhood often goes unappreciated, but know that the family cannot function without you. The breakdown of society is as a result of absent fathers. We are forever thankful for your existence.

Please be deliberate about being active in your children's life. Time flies and they won't always be there. Childhood goes by quickly and you'll miss out on their innocence if you don't cherish every moment with your presence. Children need their fathers for guidance and self esteem. Build a solid value system in your family otherwise the world will get to them. We get the children we raise.

Remember, you're not a parent to be your children's friends. You're the parent to parent them. Your job is to instill values that are beneficial to them today and forever inspite of themselves. You don't do what children want, you do what is right for them. You won't always be right but you'll sleep well knowing that you made all sacrifices for their benefits. The best of men are still men.

Nobody retires from being a parent. So on this life time journey, here is wishing all Dads a Happy Father's Day.
