Sweden And Denmark Published Their Numbers. Britain Still Won't

Sweden did not hide what was happening to it. A Lund University study tracking two decades of rape convictions found that of 4,032 people convicted of rape or attempted rape between 2000 and 2020, only 36.9 per cent were Swedish-born with two Swedish-born parents, against 69.5 per cent of the matched general population. The link held even after researchers adjusted for poverty, substance abuse and prior criminal history. None of this was concealed. It was published by the country's own university researchers, in a peer-reviewed journal, for anyone to read.

A separate analysis found that municipalities where a majority of residents have foreign background recorded 14,843 reported crimes per 100,000 people in 2025, more than double the 7,013 recorded in municipalities that are over ninety per cent Swedish background. Every ten-point rise in the Swedish-background population share tracked with roughly 1,630 fewer crimes per 100,000. The correlation held across the whole country, not a handful of unlucky suburbs.

Denmark tells a related story, with one important difference. Danish Ministry of Justice figures, reported by the broadsheet Berlingske, show non-Western immigrants and their descendants, 10.6 per cent of the population, convicted of 29.6 per cent of violent crimes and 32.4 per cent of rapes. Second-generation immigrants alone, just 2.2 per cent of the population, account for 15.6 per cent of violent crime convictions.

The difference is what happened next. Peter Hummelgaard, Denmark's justice minister at the time, did not dispute his own department's numbers or ask a tribunal to bury them. He called them "deeply disturbing" and said it made him "indescribably angry that individuals we have invited into our country repay us by committing rape and severe violence." He announced tougher sentencing for violent crime and rape in direct response. Whatever one thinks of the adequacy of that response, a minister was compelled to give one, because the numbers were public and available to be asked about.

That is the mechanism Britain has removed. The Ministry of Justice is fighting an Information Commissioner's ruling that it must publish conviction data broken down by nationality, the same category of figures Denmark releases as a matter of routine and Swedish researchers and statisticians track in detail. No British minister has had to respond to what those numbers show, because no British minister has been made to see them.

Publishing the data does not, on its own, solve anything. Sweden's own crime figures have kept climbing even as its researchers documented the pattern in exhaustive detail. But transparency is still the precondition for accountability, not a substitute for it. Denmark shows what a government does when it cannot avoid its own evidence. Hummelgaard's fury was not comfortable politics. It was a minister forced to answer for a reality his department could no longer conceal.

Britain has arranged things so that reckoning need never arrive. There is no equivalent of Hummelgaard's statement here, because there is no equivalent of Berlingske's numbers or Lund University's study. The Ministry of Justice is not managing a crisis, it is managing exposure to one. Denmark and Sweden, for all their difficulties, have at least allowed their citizens the numbers to argue over. Britain is still deciding whether its citizens are permitted to see them at all.

Sienna was riding her bike and playing with her friends after school on a cycle path in the park—a place where children should be able to laugh, play and feel safe. Instead, she was struck by a motorbike that was being ridden where it never should have been. The impact was so violent it snapped her bike in half.

Before this, Sienna was an active, fearless little girl. She loved MMA, backflips on the trampoline, and making everyone around her smile. In an instant, all of that changed. She has suffered life-changing injuries. Her head was partially internally decapitated, and we have been told that the fact she is still here is nothing short of a miracle.
I am angry beyond words. I am heartbroken beyond measure.

To the people who choose to ride motorbikes up and down cycle paths, parks and places where children play: every time you make that choice, you are gambling with someone's life. You may think it won't happen. You may think you are in control. But your decision could kill a child. It nearly killed mine.

No family should ever have to hear the words we heard. No child should have to endure the pain Sienna has endured. No parent should have to watch their child fight for their life because someone chose to ignore the safety of everyone around them.
Sienna is the strongest, bravest, funniest girl I know. She is still fighting every single day. Now we will fight too—not just for her, but for every child who deserves to be safe while playing with their friends.
Please don't wait until the next child isn't as lucky. This has to stop.

Jeremy addresses Chris Packham’s derogatory comments about Clarkson’s Farm whilst appearing on Gogglebox.

Mr Packham's comments came as he watched Clarkson's Farm during an episode of Celebrity Gogglebox, where he criticised what he sees as an unrealistic portrayal of farming exclaiming the following -

"Already, right, that's not what a farm looks like. Most farms are horrible monocultures, which have been sprayed with deadly chemicals time and time again. The ground is pumped full of fertiliser, and loads of the animals are indoors in crates, being crushed and kept in the dark."

Mr Clarkson rejected the comments outright and rebutted with the following -

"The endlessly angry Chris Packham went on Gogglebox this week and erupted in blind fury about the Winnie the Pooh-ish opening credits to my farming programme," he wrote.

"Now, of course this kind of stuff plays well in a room full of nose rings and Palestine flags at a vegan activist meeting in Hackney," Clarkson wrote.

"But he was on a television programme, and it didn't play well at all."

The death of Ann Widdecombe is deeply distressing. I do not know the full circumstances or motivations, but it looks to be an act of appalling and wicked evil.

I am calling on Parliament and the Home Office to provide MPs who have received credible death threats receive proper state-funded security.

That absolutely includes Nigel Farage, Reform MPs and any other politician who has been threatened in a way that is beyond the usual social media insults.

I myself receive countless death threats, and arrests have been made because of those.

Personally, I have found Parliament’s response to be unacceptably relaxed about it all - it seems Reform feel the same. I agree.

I also believe that the temperature of political ‘debate' needs to be lowered. Of course there will be robust disagreement, and personal insults will inevitably be dragged into that, but too often, it’s too much.

In Britain, there is a line. Or at least there should be.

In the run up to the Makerfield by-election, the Daily Mail ran two front pages about Restore Britain in a row.

On the Sunday, they linked us to a ‘white supremacy’ summit.

On Monday, the headline labelled us as the home for ‘neo-nazis’, quoting somebody from Reform - Reform’s London Mayoral candidate also previously stated we were neo-nazi. Various other outrageous insults have been thrown at our party - from Reform, Green, Labour and other political figures.

This is not a healthy way of conducting political debate and it certainly fires people up in a reckless way.

But the point remains.

Any MP, from any party, who is subject to such foul abuse and threats should be protected by the state.

Britain is not the same country as it was 20 years ago, even 10.

There are a great number of very dangerous people living among us who want us dead.

Those who put themselves in serious harm’s way through engaging with the political process should receive proper security - I include Nigel Farage in that.

I will be looking to work with cross-party colleagues to implore the Home Office to reassess the current security arrangements for all MPs.

It needs to change.
