@GMB So if parents take children on holiday, I do not process to a fine, but therefore teachers should have the same right so are you suggesting government should cover this cost to schools? If a parents right is to remove their child, that shouldn’t matter the profession?
To celebrate the release of Disciplinary Literacy in Primary Schools by @ShareenAdvice we’ve got a copy to give away!
This book has already received glowing reviews from Alex Quigley,Mary Myatt & Dame Alison Peacock – and it’s set to be a fantastic resource for schools.

@Headteacherchat Did a brief 5 min intro about myself & then asked them what they thought I should know about the school.3 diff colour post it notes.
1) keep
2) refine and how
3) ditch and get rid
Circulated, chatted, got to know them. Collected notes in at end. Interesting & used for SDP.
Day 9- 6 properties now have no water overnight including those housing children and vulnerable. Not an @thameswater problem and we don’t have the money for court to fight those who will not agree for the work to be completed on the shared 120+ year old pipe. @rdgchronicle
Day 7- no visit still from @thameswater . One landlord not responding so all 5 houses still impacted until they do. No water pressure to run a shower, filling bath with a bucket whilst it’s still pumping out in to next doors garden. Work can’t start until all 6 agree. Madness.

@thameswater 6 days this has been flowing from a broken 120 year old pipe, disrupting supply to 6 properties. 3 of which house vulnerable residents yet no support available unless all 6 houses can pay to fix it?! 7 day wait for you to clarify a ‘suspected leak’. Madness.
@thameswater@BBCWatchdog We’re well aware of this Chris but this has been flowing for 6 days from a Thames Water main pipe and with three of the houses being rented, getting in touch with landlords isn’t easy. The lack of advice or support from Thames Water inspiring.

Always remember - you can dread going back to work and despise the thought.... but love teaching and be an incredible teacher. Keep being honest with yourself and block out noise.

Another day of delivering CPD this week that’s 4 out of 4 days with another day booked in for tmrw!
Below, every member of the junior school was given a copy of my book to reinforce the day.
@TeachLeadAAli It was a great day, staff were reflective, buzzing and have taken clear, refined and targeted steps away to apply practically into their own year groups. Great CPD and fantastically delivered!
@Headteacherchat I am also a new head, if you want to reach out please do. It’s really not easy. I would equally appreciate having someone to be a sounding board as much as you may 👍🏻 here to chat if you need it. ☺️
