I agree, it is emotional abuse. I think giving a voice to the child, even a teenager makes it worse. As it is abdicating parental responsibility and instead making the child choose. Later in life the child can feel wretched about the choice they made, #FamilyLawHour
@julie_doughty Hmmm. Children have a right to a relationship with both parents without question. Only when one parent is found unfit for some good reason like mental health should it be refused. If no child or teenager was asked they would assume they have no choice. This would be healthier?
@julie_doughty@wiley_francesca Because they sometimes come from a systemic perspective which means that no one person is right and the other wrong, that everyone will have played a part in being part of the problem. This gives the alienator a way of not being held to account.
