Jodie Foster remembers her first time at Cannes for “Taxi Driver” with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro:
“After the press conference, they all got too scared and they wouldn’t leave their rooms. So I ended up doing all the interviews in French for the entire team of ‘Taxi Driver’!”

When Jodie Foster first met Robert De Niro on the set of "Taxi Driver" at 12 years old, she found him "really uninteresting."
"One of our greatest American actors, so proud to have worked with him — not the most interesting person on earth. And at that time, he was very much in character, the way he was in those days. So he was really uninteresting and I remember having these lunches with him and being like, what is happening? When can I go home? ... But he finally walked me through improvisation by the time we had our third lunch together, and it opened my eyes to what acting could be." https://t.co/wEgSRYaDX7
Jodie Foster talks preparation for 'Taxi Driver' as a 12-year-old: “People kept saying, "Do you know what a prostitute is?” I was like, “I live in Los Angeles, five blocks from Hollywood Boulevard." @Marrakech_Fest
@Anon06061 yes!!! and she's aware of it, of course!
she spoke a few times now about being much more vulnerable in french, maybe that's why it's even greater than watching her speak english :)
