Progress with @Westjet and the on hold saga. Total time was 11hrs, 40 min. I've spoke with an agent. She was very courteous & professional - especially given the circumstances and call volume. #thankyou
An update on the @westjet on hold saga. I didn’t hang up overnight - and sometime around 5:10 am this morning, the call was dropped. We initiated the call at 8:30 pm on Tuesday. So back on hold - and its now been 11 hours of waiting for an agent.
Yeesh. 4 hrs here and counting. This is impressively awful. Hey @CBCNews@globeandmail would encourage you to ask @WestJet what is going on with wait times?
3/4 @westjet How about an option to leave a call back number? Make an appointment by booking a time slot online? Or even indicate the wait time? Or that I am caller 25,000 and that I might want to call back in the 23rd century?
4/ 4 @westjet Seeing tweets from guests of 8 hours waiting on hold... is depressing – I hope that’s an exaggeration – otherwise I am thinking your process flowchart depends on guests giving up – which is brutal. You can do better than this. #geologictimeisfastcomparedtowestjet
2/4 @westjet So after one dropped call and what is now 2 hrs+ on the phone on hold with a repeating message which insists that the ‘on hold’ website will solve all my problems, or try the automated agent “it can answer almost all your questions”, I am little annoyed.
1/4 @westjet I appreciate that these are unusual times and in light of the situation that flights change. However- update your process and/or staff your call centre appropriately! I am required (& what seems to be all #Westjet guests) to speak to an agent to make the change.
This is live now!

Some pretty sophisticated things happening behind the scenes from the Music faculty and staff as well as the staff from @CU_Teaching.
I went upstairs to refresh my coffee - just before taking a sip, I noted that my coffee had a beautiful crema... and then discovered that my son had replaced the coffee in the pot with cherry coke. A proud "Gotcha daddy!" was yelled out by him. Every year he gets me! #AprilFools
Also to my educator colleagues @Carleton_U - as you think of the classes and learning that remains - consider taking a moment to reflect on the challenges your students might be facing. Some of them are moving, are worried about employment, finances, loved ones & their courses.
To my educator colleagues @Carleton_U - I am thinking of you. You've had to adapt so quickly to support students. Thank you for caring about their success. If you need help -@CU_Teaching is here. Reach out to us [email protected].
Carleton has cancelled classes on March 16 and 17 to help prepare for alternative forms of instruction on March 18. @CU_Teaching has resources available to support instructors with help to teach online. https://t.co/NGZRFGyQH0 and https://t.co/8s5GAR5fdp
Please see below our plan to complete the term online @Carleton_U. I am aware that these measures will cause inconvenience & disruption, but the safety of our community is our priority. Many thanks everyone for adapting to these challenging circumstances.

I was reading my twitter profile... Apparently one of my interests is #dinosaurs yet I almost never tweet about them. And I do really love dinosaurs... so check out this hummingbird sized dinosaur: https://t.co/7sdhbAyG4W
Particularly pleased about Dr. @BrentMainprize & Dr. Aleksandra Zecevic being recognized with 3M National Teaching Fellowships - I previously supported the #STLHE#D2L Innovation in Teaching & Learning Award and learned about some of their accomplishments earlier in their career.
Another STLHE D2L Innovation in Teaching & Learning Award recipient is recognized for her dedication to teaching & learning. That's Dr. Aleksandra Zecevic. She's a 2020 3M Teaching Fellow! In 2015 she received the #STLHE#D2L award for her work in community engaged learning.
This is great news. I had the pleasure of learning about Brent's teaching & learning innovation in 2014. In 2014 Brent was selected as a #STLHE#D2L#Innovation in Teaching & Learning Award recipient. Exciting to see him recognized for his leadership in teaching & learning!
