A lot of people wanted my BG3 checklist — I’m more than willing to share but please remember this was intended for ME and it’s still very much a work in progress! Please read the instructions first — it also tells you how to make an editable copy for yourself! Link below ⬇️
when i first played bg3, i missed the detail that ketheric didn’t like isobel dating aylin because she was immortal, so i thought ketheric was really explicitly homophobic
I find it ironic now that Maelle says "Are you real?" To Gustave upon seeing him again because no Maelle, he isn't real. None of them are technically. Their existence isn't real but what they feel and experience are.
the fact that the hero of ferelden conscripted anders to the grey wardens (and gave him ser pounce-a-lot) is such an unreal part of dragon age universe lore to me. it feels like a headcanon i would come up with knowing how ridiculous it is. but it’s what actually happens
I can’t stop crying over the fact that Maelle, who can only play the piano in this clumsy, awkward way, has an ability called “Mezzo Forte.”
It has to be because she used to listen to Verso play when she was little. Even after Alicia was reborn as Maelle and lost all her memories, I think the beautiful melodies he played on the piano still echoed softly somewhere deep within her heart.
The irony of Verso, a genius pianist, having no abilities named after musical terms hits me so hard, especially when his theme consists entirely of a beautiful piano melody. It’s absolutely heartbreaking in the best possible way.
To Verso, music may not have been something to wield in battle, but rather something that steadied his heart and helped him remain himself. Perhaps that is why it was so precious to him: music was a fundamental part of who he was, something he cherished throughout his life.
When you play as Maelle and interact with the piano, she plays it clumsily, but when Verso does the same, his performance is fluid and mesmerizing. I love details like this so much.
The dev team is incredibly good at trusting players to notice the hidden truths and meanings for themselves, without ever spelling them out.
