If a bridge is elevated and designed with proper drainage, why does this particular bridge in Lagos always get waterlogged whenever it rains? This is not the first time I am seeing videos of this same exact place whenever it gets flooded in Lagos.
Shouldn’t the water naturally flow off the bridge through drainage outlets instead of pooling on the bridge itself? Or is this a blocked drains or a design issue?
I’m genuinely curious because, from a common sense engineering perspective, a bridge shouldn’t be holding water every time it rains.
