A Connecticut federal judge denied Kalshi's injunction on Aug 10: sports event contracts fall outside the Commodity Exchange Act, and even if they did, state gambling law isn't preempted. The Third Circuit leaned the other way in NJ. The split is widening.

@Kalshi That headline already had a price. Polymarket's "traffic back to normal by Aug 31" went 17.5c to 2.45c in a week. "US ends the blockade by Aug 31": 78c to 31.5c. The Dec 31 version is still 84.25c. Nobody thinks it's permanent. Everyone quit thinking it ends soon.

Same fight, four price tags. BetMGM has Makhachev -350 and Garry +270, which adds up to 104.8%. Kalshi's last trades: 76c and 26c, so 102c. Polymarket: 75.5c and 24.5c, exactly 100. That extra 4.8 cents isn't a forecast. It's a fee wearing a forecast's clothes.

@Polymarket Checked the board. Crash to $35k: 8.5c. Reclaim $100k: 8.5c. Same bid, same ask, dead level. A month ago the crash was 12.5c and $100k was 9.5c, so the gap didn't widen, it closed. The market isn't picking a side, it's declining to have one.

One candidate won South Carolina's GOP Senate primary last night with 32.7%. Polymarket's "wins round one" market: 99.3c. Polymarket's "is the nominee" market, same person: 77.25c. Both jumped ~28c in a day. The 22c between them has a date on it: Aug 25.
