I live just a few miles outside of Bend Oregon. My daughter lives there. I worked for the my towns school district for 35 years. My best friend is a Principal in Bend. I have many friends there.
I’m angry tonight, extremely angry. I’m angry that 4 families just had their lives torn apart. I’m angry that this liberal town is already showing sympathy towards the shooter and questioning why the hero who saved countless lives illegally had a firearm on school property. I’m angry that most of the rhetoric is about banning guns and not about figuring out why another messed up teenager decided to carry out one of the most evil acts possible, shooting innocent children.
Maybe my heart is in the wrong place. I’m deeply hurt for the victims families and praying for them. However, I’m raging over the fact that our leaders are already making political statements less than 4 hours after it happened.
Three families kissed their kids goodbye for the last time and a spouse kissed their loved one goodbye for the last time.
Someone knew this kid’s intentions and did nothing.
Congratulations to Washington's educational establishment. You've apparently discovered the greatest athletic performance-enhancement program in human history: switch the competition from boys to girls and watch the standings fucking explode.
September 5: Logan Mihailoff finishes 76th in boys' junior varsity cross-country.
September 26: Second place among 195 girls.
September 29: First place in girls' varsity, ahead of 45 competitors.
Holy shit. Somebody alert Nike. Apparently the secret to athletic greatness was hiding in Washington's gender-identity regulations all along.
And when the girls noticed this miraculous transformation? Camas School District delivered a breathtaking display of bureaucratic genius. State law says it's allowed. The athletic association says it's allowed. Therefore, everybody can shut the hell up and admire how wonderfully inclusive everything has become.
Brilliant. Absolutely fucking brilliant.
You have to appreciate the craftsmanship. Take a controversy over fairness in girls' sports, bury it under a mountain of administrative horseshit, and declare victory because every box on the compliance checklist has been ticked.
There's just one tiny problem.
The girls aren't buying this crap.
Nearly half the Camas girls' cross-country team walked off the course rather than compete under these rules. They'd rather sacrifice their own race than applaud the bureaucrats' latest masterpiece.
Imagine being a school administrator and watching that happen. Imagine possessing so little self-awareness that your response to girls abandoning their own competition is to proudly recite the regulations that drove them away.
Washington has achieved something truly extraordinary. Its officials have become so fucking obsessed with defending their definition of fairness that the athletes they're supposedly protecting are refusing to participate.
And the crowning achievement of this magnificent educational breakthrough?
They've finally created a girls' sporting event where the girls themselves are walking away.
Give those bureaucratic geniuses a trophy. Apparently everybody gets one except the girls who earned theirs.

Save our Dams! It would be a disaster for E. Washington and the entire state to remove our Snake River dams. It’s how our wheat gets to market and how we generate clean power for our homes. Those dams were authorized by Congress for the express purpose of river navigation and they aren’t going anywhere on my watch. 🇺🇸
Humanely killing a deer and using it as food = disgusting
Dismembering a developing baby in the womb because the mom views him/her inconvenient = her choice
The selective outrage is hard to take seriously.
Great opinion piece from @geekwire.
It should be abundantly clear to Washington voters the legislature and @GovBobFerguson have been lying all along and intend to make everyone pay an income tax.
“Most notably, the income tax was written specifically to cover pensions, reversing Washington’s previous commitment to not tax pension retirement income. While teacher, firefighter and other pensioners are not initially paying the state income tax, the only reason to make their income subject to the tax is to require them to pay when it is lowered to apply to them.
Second, Olympia actually voted twice on the income tax — once to pass the income tax, and a second time to ensure they could expand it to everyone. They wanted to make clear their intent to voters.”
@VesperAegis@justinedeter@komonews At two weeks old a male baby has a stronger grip than a female. At maturity theyhave denser bones, app. 30% more muscle, larger lungs, heart, arms and hands, and a higher percentage of fast twitch muscles = no place in XX sports
The teachers union is spending big money to tell these girls to shut up and just train harder
Boys do not belong in girls locker rooms, on their podiums, or taking their scholarships.
Vote Yes I-638 to protect girls sports
Left wing sports media told us Kaepernick was a hero for kneeling during the anthem & demanded he get jobs even though his political opinions had nothing to do with sports. Now Sophie Cunningham must be fired for speaking on sports eligibility. Hypocrites!
@ManticoreWFA@JoeKennewick By any chance did you read the post by Bob Mars wife about Eric? His death was a travesty I have not forgotten and her requests to Eric were ignored about his killer’s latest pleas for release
BREAKING: A WIN FOR THE KING FAMILY, AND FOR EVERY WASHINGTON PRODUCER FACING REGULATORY OVERREACH.
A Washington Court of Appeals commissioner has granted a STAY, pausing the Pollution Control Hearings Board’s enforcement proceeding against Wade and Teresa King while the appellate court considers whether they are constitutionally entitled to a jury trial in an independent court.
The stay prevents irreparable harm. In plain terms: by the time a jury-less agency process runs its course, a family may already have paid the price through penalties, restoration orders, legal costs, and restrictions on its land, before receiving a fair hearing.
The state is seeking a $267,540 penalty and restoration orders over stockwater ponds on the King family’s ranchland, which the Department of Ecology classifies as regulated wetlands. The case was built on low-resolution aerial imagery. The King family has ranched this land since the 1950s.
THIS IS A REAL PAUSE IN THE LAWFARE MACHINERY. But it is only a temporary stay, not a ruling on the constitutional jury-trial question. The fight continues.
That matters far beyond one ranch. When the government can impose crushing penalties through an administrative process while denying a jury trial, every producer’s property rights are at stake. This is what it takes just to get a fair hearing.

DEVELOPING: WA teen Kallie Keeler has asked the US Supreme Court to step in after lower courts refused to let her compete this season without being matched against a biological male after she was allegedly sexually assaulted during a match
“No girl should have to choose between playing the sport she loves and her safety”
@itsme_LT Andrew represents our school with class. But why put the defensive unit out there to answer questions, they are not the ones dazed and confused on the field
Why did they purposefully strip all protection from the retirement accounts of firefighters, teachers and first responders?
Why is your social security and IRA subject to this unconstitutional income tax?
Legislator Cindy Ryu just told us on NPR, she wants the tax threshold lowered to $250K per household (that means $125 per person) before it even goes into effect
Sen. Jamie Pedersen is telling voters in his neighborhood that he fully plans to lower the threshold to $250K.
It hasn’t even gone into effect yet and they are already shaving 75% of the protected income level.
Repeal this unconstitutional income tax now before it is too late
Vote Yes I-645 to repeal the unconstitutional income tax
Here it is, week 4 TV viewer. WSU in 3rd place with 7.19 M viewers which is more than UW.
Boise State at 5.7 M viewers and Oregon State at 3.21 M.
WSU ahead of my most former PAC12 members. These numbers matter if college realignment continues.

There are 217 @WNBA players in the league and now I’m speaking directly to all of you.
I’m astonished.
You play in a league and have a commissioner who cannot and will not define your gender and is embarrassing you in front of the entire world. Yet none of you have the BALLS to stand up for yourselves and say, “Enough is enough.”
And that’s the whole point. None of you have balls, and it needs to stay that way.
I guess biology is still pending committee approval.
They’re trying to figure out how to define a woman in a way that fits their nonsense agenda.
Deep down, I believe you don’t want a biological male entering your league and taking your minutes, your money, your endorsements, and your dignity.
Are you all really that afraid of cancel culture that you would rather sacrifice your morals, values, and principles for money?
If the #NBA commissioner came out tomorrow and said, “We cannot define what a man is,” there would be outrage and a protest among the players the next day.
Open your eyes. #WNBA
I’m not the enemy here.
The real threat to women’s sports is not the one asking the question.
It’s the silence of the women who refuse to answer it.
