VAT is paid for this luxury service (unlike most goods and services) then the state loses potential income.
VAT paid on school fees can provide more funding for state schools, including state funded SEN provision for children of less well off parents.

fund our public services which includes teachers pay in state schools. So, if more tax is paid the govt could pay more teachers and maybe pay them better too.
