This place—our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.—is special.
Not just because of who lives here, the decisions that are made here that affect all of planet Earth, or the incredible architecture and memorials.
It’s special because for the first time in my life, it feels like it’s OURS once again… “We the People’s” city. It’s clean. Opulent. Bustling with workers, legislators, foreign dignitaries, large groups of tourists, veterans, students, and survivors.
The city used to feel like an elite club from which regular Americans were alienated. Now? It feels like an opportunity for regular people to come celebrate the 250th birthday of their nation with the people currently entrusted with guiding and protecting it.
Washington, D.C. matters. The attention to detail, revitalization, commerce, and love being shown to monuments immortalizing great Americans are a sign of the collective self-respect we now have as a people.
This is all because of one man’s leadership and an army of loyal, hardworking people who trust his judgment and believe in his vision for our nation.
God bless you all for what you’ve done for our capital, and God bless President Trump for restoring our nation’s dignity. 🇺🇸
