The #1 thing that most athletes don't 'get' about the training process:
You can't outwork a lousy lifestyle.
If life stressors aren't in order, you can put in a 500, 800, even 1000 hour training year and not improve at all!
Stable physiology starts with a stable life.
@BrianCooksonOBE@Olympics@BritishCycling Congratulations. We’re fortunate to have events nationally and internationally and the health and will to be competitive. 💪
@StephenSeiler Thanks. What about…Not accounting for time but leg feeling. Sometimes same as mental RPE and sometimes legs disconnect from mind (mind is willing, legs cannot.) Suspect this varies per individual muscle physiology/fitness specificity.
@annemarije@AvVleuten I raced in The Netherlands, (a long time ago), the first thing people said to me was, “I expected you to be taller.” I finally learned how to Behave in an echelon.Corner on cobbles in the rain. words like laatste ronde. But I never grew taller. Tall people, big hearts.
