Last night, Florida carried out its first execution in nearly four years, and this was the 100th Florida execution of the modern era (since the Supreme Court allowed executions to resume in 1976). One of the men who supervised executions in Florida is Ron McAndrew, a retired prison warden. He was haunted -- haunted -- by the men he killed. I interviewed him for my book "Executing Grace" and will never forget it. He helped Florida transition from electric chair to lethal injection, which he originally hoped would be a more sanitized way of executing people. But he was still haunted... There is just no good way to kill someone, he told me. He has become one of the most credible voices in the movement to abolish the death penalty. Now we have captured Ron's story in our film series, "The People vs. The Death Penalty." We'll be posting other short clips over the next few weeks. Here's the clip of Ron McAndrew.
