At the “Agroecological Transformation in Action in Africa” event hosted by WRI Africa at #COP29Baku today, the speakers discussed the role of agroecology in sustainable development.
Participants included Susan Chomba from WRI Africa, Bridget Mugambe from @Afsafrica, and other key African leaders and advocates.
The panel highlighted the importance of agroecology in advancing food sovereignty and resilience across the continent, focusing on collaborative policy efforts and community-driven solutions to enhance food systems in Africa.

H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, met with David Beer, CEO of TradeMark Africa, on the margins of the Biashara Afrika 2024. During the productive discussions, they explored the critical role of TradeMark Africa in removing trade barriers across the continent, reinforcing a shared commitment to the success of the AfCFTA for businesses. TradeMark Africa’s active participation at the Forum was highlighted, as they engaged with businesses harnessing AfCFTA's potential to boost cross-border trade. This meeting marked an excellent opportunity for collaboration and progress.
