Lucky to be an ACP in acute medicine, with a particular interest in plant and fungi toxicity. Ex ED nurse. Love my job just not current NHS challenges!
Hi again @RachelReevesMP - I got this today from a young doctor from a low-income family. She can’t afford to buy a house because, while she’s paying back £2,560 in student loan repayments a year, you’re charging her interest at a rate of £7,800 a year.
Which part of this is “fair”?
A lesson in life.
Call from a colleague today…
“Keith, I’ve got a 80 year old man with jaundice and fever from a large 2cm gallstone wedged in the bile duct. He’s on anticoagulation for PE. I just have a bad feeling about him and I think he needs an ERCP today.”
It's been proven time and time again that immigration has no effect on the difficulties to NHS. Those who have immigrated have significantly less need of 'our' health services compered to the great British public...
Left: Nigel Farage on #ImACeleb claims that immigration to the UK is the reason you can't get a GP appointment
Right: @DrAmirKhanGP explains that immigrants and their descendants are part of the reason you CAN an appointment with your GP because they comprise 42% of the NHS medical workforce (doctors, nurses and clinicians)
Make sure your children & grandchildren will know about @GhassanAbuSitt1 A Palestinian man also a British citizen, when Britain supported the genocide of his people,he was in Gaza doing surgeries trying to save severely injured survivors. The curriculum won’t mention him, we Will

@DoctorPonglenis@drphiliplee1 Appologies late in responding here. I'm unclear as to why the GPs didn't act on their concerns ? These are hugely worrying (could apply to any Dr , ACP or PA and need addressing what ever qualification )
@HoneySmith63 @Dr_Done_ Looking at @dawnashley13 's posts the 'Dr of the week' certificate was given to Drs AND non Drs such as Pharmacists, nurses, PAs, ACCPs. For non Drs her posts usually state "Doctor " - quotation marks. I'm sure with hindsight she would now use 'team player .'

Do you know what’s also damaging to children?
Ridiculous amounts of supply
Masses of teachers leaving
Lack of funding for SEND & special schools
Overstretched mental health services
Unqualified staff teaching GCSE
Huge Ofsted pressure
Cost of living
But yep those 6 strike days 🙄

@DrSteveTaylor I work on a virtual ward which works very well and has a range of patients from purely having temperature or heart rate monitored, to those on IV diruetics with twice daily nurses . Only certain patients can use VWs , but I'm sure they will be used as a long-term 'solution. '
