@macjay72 @ChloeERodger I don’t think you’re hearing her. NHS might be a top employer in numbers but unemployment for doctors is very real thanks to funding and lack of increased training numbers. Regardless of the employer she is now unemployed. That’s not secure.

@xxsnzz @ShaunLintern I work next to my department manager and realise how little I knew about the role and demands. What seems to some colleagues like micromanaging and red tape is balancing high up expectations with the realisms of a department and often protecting and advocating for staff

@trufflepotamus @MJA9622 I often ask my students to arrive early for theatres, and warn them to bring a snack or breakfast and my rationale for doing so. I’d rather they’re there early with time to find scrubs, shoes and where they’re going than rush and miss handover 🤷🏻‍♀️

@agemjourney I promise, it might take a while, and some tears and pep talks, but it will get better. That’s all completely normal. I cried to my ES because I couldn’t manage my workload in my third week, and while I felt useless it was with hindsight completely normal. You’ve got this 🤍

@agemjourney I fully feel this. I started on nights and cried x3, wasn’t allowed to even prescribe fluids per the reg who wouldn’t answer their page, failed every cannula, contemplated quitting… that same dept is my favourite place and my favourite consultant laughs at my recollections

And given the procedures which juniors on this unit are encouraged to learn and volunteer for, and PAs cover other jobs for them to do this, its not really relevant
